NearByCollab does not currently charge Creators or Brands anything to create a profile, browse the directory, or send/accept collaboration requests. Because no payment is taken by NearByCollab today, there is nothing on the Platform itself to refund.
Any money or product exchanged as part of a collaboration (paid campaign, barter or UGC deal) is agreed and settled directly between the Brand and the Creator — NearByCollab is not a party to that payment and does not hold funds in escrow. Refunds, part-payments or cancellation terms for a specific collaboration are whatever the Brand and Creator agree between themselves before starting work; we recommend confirming this in writing (a message, invoice or simple agreement) before any payment is made.
If a collaboration falls through — a Creator doesn't deliver, or a Brand doesn't pay as agreed — you can mark the request as cancelled from your dashboard and use the report tool on the other party's profile so our team can review the account. We will investigate credible reports but cannot force a refund between two independent parties.
A Brand can cancel a request they sent at any time before it is accepted. A Creator can decline any request they haven't accepted. Once both sides mark a collaboration "accepted", cancelling it is a matter between the two parties — please communicate directly and update the status in your dashboard once you've agreed on next steps.
If we introduce paid features (for example, promoted placement, subscriptions or payment processing) we will publish specific refund terms for that feature before charging you, and those terms — not this general policy — will govern refunds for that feature.
